I must say " thanks Anthony " for the help over the last few weeks.   My wife and I bought 2 Wisper 806fe folding bikes.  We live up the top of a valley in Nelson so it's alright going down town but coming back up - well that's another story for some of us !   I've been a recreational cyclist most of my life touring, mtb biking, commuting and really just enjoying it, but these bikes add another outlook to it.  Still get around, wind in my face and the enjoyment of cycling with a bit more ease coming back up the hill pedaling, but like you're on the flat overtaking other cyclists struggling up the hill hehe...on these little bikes ! !  So easy to fold up and put in the back of the car and head off, then unfold and away we go.  Really easy to ride and have had a lot of looks and watching people checking them out plus questions. So it's fair to say we're really enjoing them!

The Pedal4me kit is great, and goes particularly well uphill. I have used it about ten times, and travelled twice to work and back on one charge, this is 48kms total, including two, 220m climbs. I do most of the pedalling on the flat, but it makes the hill climb at the end of the day a breeze. It cruises efficiently at 25-26kph with pedal assist and light pedalling, max about 32kph, but i think that this would drain the battery fairly quickly. I now use gear 13 instead of 2 going uphill!

I generally get up hills I'd have no chance of getting up before.

Including getting up the hill from the coast road to Pukerua Bay at 24km/hr!

I get a good 2 hours out of battery assisted, and I can average 26 to 28km/hr. I've ridden 40km in 1hr 20 mins before too (on the Foxton-Himatangi ride)

Just went up our home drive 1 n 5 incline in places and great! I would never have biked up there with my normal bike, stalling even at the beginning (1 in 7 or so, I am slack biker...) With the 905se Sport I went right up to the house in a speed that would have left just about any pro biker in the dust! Mind you, you do need to keep pushing your pedals hard as once you lost the speed, there is no recovery on a steep hill. But nevertheless its impressive.

Well, I am so enjoying the bike (705se) ... Fay worked at getting it all assembled and thankfully she has done a good job. It is great to zip around the road and be able to get that extra assistance as I tackle the hills.

Just to let you know I am thrilled to bits with the Wisper 705se step through. It is all you promised and more. Much more comfortable than an ordinary bike and so effortless. I find people are really interested in electric bikes. I have one chap who is desperate for more information and I will give him your email, but he will probably contact ‘Clean Green’ guys in Auckland which means you will still get the business. The bike is so strong and sturdy looking. My son was keen to have a play but when he saw the old fashioned handlebars he changed his mind. Obviously not cool enough!! I find the handle bars very easy to manage and the gears are the best I have come across. Keep up the good work.

Kia Ora. I Have been bombing around on my new bike (905 City S) almost everyday since I got it, it's wonderfull, I'm so pleased with it. It has changed cycling for me, just having that extra power of an electric motor pushing me along makes it such a breeze. I live on top of a hill here in Napier and coming home with my panier's full of heavy groceries, I used to have to dismount and push now I just pedal on up no sweat. The Wisper has more than lived up to my expectations. Cheers, Hooly..

Just a short note to let you know how the bike (905 eco) is going, I have been using it for work which is about 25Kms round trip, I can get 2 trips on the one charge and it only takes 10 min longer one way than if I use my car or Motor bike. Its great fun catching up and even overtaking the "professional" bike riders, I really feel for them (yea right!) when we come to those awful hills here in Auckland and see them have to stand up on the pedals and push really hard to make any headway. I have lost 3kgs in only a few weeks, have to be careful or I will waste away to nothing. Also seen a lot more of the area around here by using the walkways/cycle tracks that I have discovered. Thanks again for advising me on the correct bike.

Hi Anthony, Just thought you might like some feedback. I haven’t used the car since last Wednesday, and that has included several grocery shopping trips and a violin lesson! With the carrier and 2 pannier bags, the Wisper is pretty much the ultimate urban transport. The more I ride it, the more I want to ride it. My Wisper is the best VEHICLE I’ve owned, let alone bicycle.

Just thought I would email you to say how pleased I am with the Wisper 905eco with 14ah battery. So far this year I have managed to cycle 3 to 4 times a week to work. All up it a 36 km ride to work and back home. The battery is good for a least 50km on one charge but I find it more convenient to charge it each day overnight. The joy of this bike is that it completely neutralizes the strong wind we get here in Wellington, so regardless of the wind I can cycle at a constant 30 km/h give take a km or two. Of course the biggest kick I get is riding up the Ngaio Gorge hill at the end of the day, which I do at 18 to 24 km/h depending on wind and whether there are any other cyclist grinding up the hill at 10 km/h to show off to! Despite riding an electric bike I am still getting plenty of exercise on it and in fact I am losing weigh at the moment.I am trying to talk my partner in to buying a Wisper bike as I would like us to go cycle touring on electric bikes.

I bought a 905SE for travel to work on Waiheke Island and to commute over to Penrose once a week (I live on the Island). I am very impressed with the bike's performance. I'm getting 70K's per charge of good assistance, it only starts to fade between 70 & 80km (this is in economy mode). This suits me fine as I cover 65-70K's every week. Some of the hills are quite steep on the Island and the 905SE handles them with no problems, probably would get 80K's (or more) easy if it wasn't for the hills? For those who know the Palm Beach hill road I can peddle up there averaging 13kph in economy mode!

Thank you! I'm so enjoy cycling into Auckland city from Whenuapai [note: on a Wisper 705se] and having an electric bike just makes it more achievable (about 26km each way) getting 3 trips to work and back off 1 charge. I will experiment more now with the green button. Thanks again

The bike is fantastic, great for getting about town. It’s preferable to take the bike than the car to get about Hamilton. The path ways along the river is great for traffic-less access from one end of town to the other. Just remember to warn walkers when approaching from behind and keep left. As long as the council keeps extending the cycle ways all over town they’ll get my support.I put some off road tires on and took the bike over the 42nd Traverse (42km). My buddies were puffing on the long up-hills near the end and the bike still had power for another 10km. I carried the bike through the river crossings to keep the electrics from getting wet. This got me enthusiastic so I did the W2K track to Kinloch from Acacia Bay west of Taupo. Performed great but I had started out with the battery not fully charged so I had to push up the hill back to Acacia bay. That round trip is at least 40 km. Most bikers drive to the foot of the track at Whakaipo bay and it did this section easily both ways. I guess I’m getting about 70 km around town and between 40 & 50 on the trails and I don’t use cruise mode much, flat out is better. The off road track’s I’ve been on so far have been no problem and the bike seems more than robust enough to take this punishment. The harshest terrain seems to be the course gravel roads usually found at either end of a track. That said though, I don’t do jumps or drop offs. To old for that and it hurts when I fall off.The bike has exceeded my expectations and is highly recommended by me whenever some one asks. This is happening on a regular basis and I find myself in conversation with people I’ve never met before.I would never have considered doing off road touring on a peddler but with the electric assistance it’s opened up a whole new world of off road trails to me It’s been the best money I’ve spent this year Cheers

This, not being my biography, brings me to about four months ago, now 83 years of age, when I started having serious breathing problems that turned out to be a heart condition and cycling seemed to be at an end. But then we really don’t give up that easily do we? Thanks guy’s for your input in this forum because without you I would not have been able to evaluate and buy the 905SE Sport, sight unseen, from Richard in Auckland
...That first ride showed that I needn’t give up cycling after all. Can’t say how much this means to me but cycling is part of my life. I wouldn’t enjoy riding the bike by the use of the motor only though, to me using the pedals is a great part of the pleasure of bike riding but I do now need the assistance of the motor to achieve this.
To sum up my four days limited experience of riding the Wisper. I love it. It could be the bike for almost everyone. It can be a tiger, it can be a pussycat. Rider’s choice I think. Thanks again guys. Best wishes John.
